Born Bozeman, Montana. B.A. University of Washington (Seattle), 1967. Studied painting at Kölner Werkschulen (Cologne) and Hochschule für bildende Künste (Hamburg), Germany. MFA in Painting Northwestern University (Evanston)  1974. Faculty, School of the Art Institute of Chicago, 1975 – 2009. Now lives and works in Anacortes, WA.
